Is it your Job or your Soul Mission?
Society, and the climate we live in today, has taught us a system of “work” that I believe is false. Working—or a job—is seen as something to be acquired outside of ourselves. It is something you go get, a source of income. But I believe that this is a disrespect, a depolarization of our true work spirit—our mission.
I believe that the “job” we often do is only a 10% representation of our true nature, which is our mission. We each came to Earth with a specific mission, and that mission runs through our bones every single day. Often, our mission is the thing that comes most naturally to us—and so we overlook it. Because today’s society has taught us that our job is something we must work on, seek, refine. But our mission is something we were born with. We do not have to “work at it” to acquire it—we must only refine it.
Unfortunately, in today’s school systems, there are few (if any) classes that help us refine our soul mission skills. Perhaps for some, yes—but for others, no. School systems do not make space for the full spectrum of soul missions. They ask children to fit into a constrained few.
And so you have half the population working jobs they are not truly passionate about—because they don’t believe they can survive off of their true gifts. Another part of the population is actually unaware of their gifts and soul mission, because they’ve never had the space to explore them.
My suggestion is as follows:
New school curriculums should be built to house the various talents and missions of individuals. Arts, creativity, science, music—these are all valid paths a child can follow. Children should be placed in education systems that help them sharpen the natural abilities they already have. Work systems should be built around collaborations between people who naturally house those gifts.
Everyone should be able to survive because they are gifted. Everyone has access to the abundance of the universe—because everyone is equal. Everyone has a gift, and so everyone can survive.
Our current system is built to push us into boxes that often don’t align with our core values and gifts. This is why many people feel unhappy with their life—they are stuck working in a job they hate. Even when people launch businesses or decide to become entrepreneurs, it’s often still within the same confines that society has set up around us. It’s always the same industries—the ones that make money.
As humans, as individuals, we need to start reclaiming our gifts and trusting that the universe will provide for us. Even if it’s not guaranteed, even if we seem to be the only ones doing it—it’s important. This is how we usher in the new world, where everyone’s gifts, big or small, are celebrated.
We shouldn’t all have to fit into the constraints of five industries. It doesn’t make sense. Our society is so backwards. We have a lot of work to do. And it all begins with the school and work systems.
Corporate jobs are designed to make you compete—why? Everybody has a seat at the table. We can all be great and work together to make progress!
Often when I express thoughts like this, people might say, “Why point out something negative?” and feel helpless, like we can’t change anything.
But we can. And awareness is the first step. We must become aware.
And once we are all aware, we will begin to create change from the inside out. But the darkness has to be brought to light first.
And once we are all aware, we will begin to create change from the inside out. But the darkness has to be brought to light first.
